How the calculator works
The calculator applies IRCC’s published Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) grid twice: once with the current rules and once with the rules that take effect on November 3, 2026. Scores are calculated in your browser as you type. Once your form is complete, your answers and both scores are saved to your account so you can come back to them.
The new labour market integration factor
From November 3, the Canadian work experience factor becomes labour market integration. You receive the higher of two routes. The two are never added together.
- Work route: the same points as today for years of skilled Canadian work (40, 53, 64, 72, 80; or 35, 46, 56, 63, 70 with an accompanying spouse), plus a high-wage add-on.
- High-wage add-on: 70 points for 12 months in 2× occupations; otherwise 40 for 12 months combined in 1.5×-or-higher occupations; otherwise 20 for 12 months combined in any high-wage occupation.
- Job-offer route: 100, 70 or 50 points for a qualifying offer in a 2×, 1.5× or 1.3× occupation. The offer must be full-time, continuous, for at least one year after you become a permanent resident, and in TEER 0 to 3. No LMIA is required.
- Maximum: 150 points, or 140 with an accompanying spouse. The overall CRS maximum rises from 1,200 to 1,270.
Skill transferability still uses your years of Canadian work as before. Age, education, language, spouse, sibling, French-language and Canadian-study points do not change. IRCC consulted on removing spouse and sibling points in 2026, but the October 16 announcement did not adopt that.
Language scores
Test scores are converted to Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) or Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens (NCLC) levels with IRCC’s equivalency charts for IELTS General Training, CELPIP-General, PTE Core, TEF Canada and TCF Canada. For TEF Canada, enter the “équivalence ancien score” printed on your result.
What this calculator does not cover
- Special job-offer rules for physicians providing publicly funded services and for some skilled-trades offers.
- Converting part-time hours to months. Enter the full-time equivalent: 1,560 hours is 12 months.
- Program eligibility (Federal Skilled Worker, Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Trades). A score is not proof you qualify.
- Category-based draws and their cut-offs.
